Infrared cameras in northeast China's Heilongjiang's Greater Khingan Range have recorded new nighttime footage of the nationally protected sable, showing the animal darting across snow and tree branches with its bright orange throat patch clearly visible. The clips come from Kandu River National Wetland Park, which has deployed over 80 infrared cameras across 4,000 hectares, integrating them with ground surveys and drone monitoring to build a tech-enabled, three-dimensional ecological observatory. The findings offer fresh data for sable behavior studies and highlight the growing impact of China's science-driven biodiversity conservation.
