On December 8, 1995, as the horns sounded with the approval of the Chinese government, Chos-kyi rGyal-po was enthroned in Tashilhunpo Monastery, officially becoming the 11th Panchen Erdeni.

In the 30 years since his enthronement, Panchen Erdeni Chos-kyi rGyal-po has proved himself to be an exemplary, outstanding scholar who has, through his studies, developed a profound theoretical understanding of Buddhism which he applies in his practical activities.

Today, Panchen Erdeni Chos-kyi rGyal-po is continuing to honor his commitment to the country, the people and his faith. By playing an active role in promoting social development to the benefit of all, he is writing a new chapter in the history of Tibetan Buddhism.
