Jiamusi, northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, holds the world record for the largest temporary straw bale maze, which spans over 12,400 square meters. Drone footage from Sunday shows visitors – many of them children – climbing and walking along the maze walls and playing on the ice-covered field at its center.
Locals described the site as a welcome escape in the winter cold, praising its atmosphere and the pride it brings to the city. The maze, open free to the public, was officially recognized on November 28 as the world's largest temporary straw bale maze. Built from thousands of rice-straw bundles, it transforms agricultural waste into a large-scale piece of environmental art.
