As a seasoned outdoorsman and climber, 82-year-old Li Cunxiu has seen his fair share of breathtaking mountain landscapes, from the Americas in the west to Europe and Asia in the east. As it happens, it wasn't until his late 60s that he climbed the strange-looking "mountains in hats" just outside his hometown in Shandong Province. Known as Daigu Landforms, these castle-like rock formations are a significant site within the Yimeng Mountains UNESCO Global Geopark and have inspired Li to share their breathtaking beauty with the rest of the world.
