Judge David Lok Kai-hong, chair of Hong Kong's Electoral Affairs Commission, has been appointed to lead an independent committee probing the Tai Po fire. The investigation report is expected within nine months. Speaking to reporters on Friday, he emphasized the need for fairness and impartiality, adding that he does not plan to engage with the media in his role as committee chair during the investigation.
