The Taiwan-produced counter-Japanese epic "Warriors of the Rainbow: Seediq Bale" will screen in the Chinese mainland from December 12, presented for the first time as its complete, original two-part release.

Part I opens on December 12, followed by Part II on December 13.

The film portrays the indigenous Seediq people in Taiwan as they rise up against the brutalities of Japanese rule, telling a story of dignity, defiance and sacrifice.

Originally released in Taiwan in 2011, the film reached mainland audiences in 2012 only through a 153-minute international cut.

This new screening marks the first time the full two-part version is shown in the mainland, offering viewers a more complete and authentic cinematic experience – and a deeper understanding of Taiwan's history.

Its release also falls in a year marking the 80th anniversary of Taiwan's recovery and the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, lending additional historical significance to the film's themes.
