Sun Yingsha, Wang Manyu, Kuai Man and Chen Yi reached the women's singles semifinals to secure the title of the event for China in advance at the World Table Tennis (WTT) Hong Kong Finals on Friday.
World No. 1 Sun crushed Japan's Miyu Nagasaki 12-10, 11-6, 11-6, 11-1 to meet Kuai in last four, who just defeated Japan's Satsuki Odo 11-6, 4-11, 9-11, 16-14, 11-4, 12-10.
"I didn't compete with her [Nagasaki] for many times in major events," Sun said. "She has her own style, and I tried to adjust myself to a better form during the match."
After beating Joo Cheon-hui of the Republic of Korea 11-7, 11-8, 9-11, 11-5, 11-4, Wang Manyu will face her compatriot Chen Yi who survived an all-Chinese clash against Chen Xingtong 7-11, 11-8, 11-9, 11-7, 11-2.

In the men's singles quarterfinals, China's Wang Chuqin saw off Alexis Lebrun of France 11-6, 11-4, 11-9, 8-11, 11-4. Wang will confront Sweden's Truls Moregard in the semifinals who just rallied past Lin Yun-Ju of Chinese Taipei 6-11, 7-11, 12-10, 11-4, 11-2, 11-5.
Sun and Wang Chuqin also fought hard to win over Wong Chun Ting and Doo Hoi Kem of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) in a mixed doubles group match 9-11, 11-5, 11-4, 1-11, 12-10. Another Chinese pair Kuai and Lin Shidong claimed victory over Indian pair Manush Shah and Diya Chitale 11-5, 7-11, 11-6, 11-6.
The mixed doubles semifinals and final will be staged on Saturday.
