A total of 16 winning films from the AI Film Season of the just-concluded Hainan International Film Festival have now been made available for viewing on streaming service, iQIYI's AI Theater. These films, along with all other award-winning titles, will also soon be showcased on the website "zaodian.quark.cn," in addition to an on-site exhibition held over five days in Sanya, Hainan.
Organized by the Artificial Intelligence Artistic Innovation Alliance (AIAIA) initiated by Today Art Museum, the on-site exhibition featured 100 AI-driven films selected from over 2,500 submissions from 56 countries and regions worldwide. Drawing more than 1,500 visitors, the exhibition underscored the growing influence of artificial intelligence in the world of filmmaking.
This event not only showcased the cutting-edge achievements of AI in the film industry but also sparked in-depth discussions on the relationship between technology and humanities in the context of film creation.
Three master class sessions delved deeply into the narrative, visuals and music of the selected AI-powered films. Works like "The Three Gardens Game," "The Greedy Nightmare," "A Dog, a Son," and "Chit" were highlighted as exemplary pieces, demonstrating the potential of AI to elevate the cinematic experience.

During a round-table discussion presided over by Xie Limei, chief designer of the AI Film Season, Xie revealed that in the future, the AIAIA Awards will establish partnerships with platforms such as iQIYI, MIT AI Film Festival and Seattle AI FILM Festival. This move aims to build a global stage for outstanding Chinese AI imaging creators.
Famous curator Victoria Lu, who is also the vice-chairperson of AIAIA, defined this year's AI Film Season as a precious practice. She described it as "a practice that throws human emotions, judgments, experiences and intuitions back into the technological field."
