Photographer Li Jiakang used a drone to capture breathtaking footage of the Xiaolangdi Reservoir in Henan releasing sediment during its high-water season. Beyond its striking visual impact, the Xiaolangdi Water Control Project plays a vital role in flood control, sediment management and water resource regulation for the Yellow River basin. Completed in 2000, the dam not only helps prevent flooding in downstream cities but also supports irrigation, hydropower generation and ecological stability along one of China's most historic rivers.
