Space often feels distant, but a walk inside the Wenchang Space Exploration Center offers a very different experience. Located in south China's Hainan Province, next to the country's coastal space launch sites, the center provides an immersive look at China's space exploration, from rockets and the space station to planetary missions and satellites.
CGTN's Li Yiqing takes you to the center, joined by Kanaikina Mariia, an international student studying at Hainan College of Foreign Studies. Through hands-on exhibits, mixed reality experiences and simple everyday comparisons, the tour breaks down space science into something intuitive and relatable. As Hainan prepares to launch island-wide special customs operations for the Free Trade Port on December 18, we also explore how aerospace development is connecting with tourism and science education.
