The death toll from a shooting at Sydney's Bondi Beach has risen to 16, police said on December 15.

The two alleged shooters were a 50-year-old man and his 24-year-old son. The older suspect, a licensed firearm owner with six legally owned guns, was killed during the incident, while his son remains in critical condition in hospital. Approximately 40 people were hospitalized with injuries, five of whom are in critical condition.
