A Chinese mainland spokesperson on Wednesday reiterated that the Taiwan question is purely China's internal affair, and resolving it is a matter for the Chinese people themselves, brooking no external interference.
Zhu Fenglian, a spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, made the statement when asked to comment on Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi's recent claim during questioning in the House of Councilors saying that the Taiwan question should be resolved peacefully through dialogue.
Japan should earnestly reflect on and correct its mistakes, and withdraw its erroneous remarks, Zhu stressed.
