The Year of the Horse gallops into view, and the symbolism couldn't be more apt. The horse stands for a free spirit that channels raw power into graceful, unstoppable motion.
Expressing this essence, China Media Group (CMG) unveiled on Thursday, December 18, the 2026 Spring Festival Gala official mascots – a set of four majestic horses – launching a range of collector's items.
Charging ahead under the theme of “Galloping Steed, Onward Unstoppable," the mascots, named Qiqi, Jiji, Chichi and Chengcheng, embody the nation's journey toward a new Chinese miracle.
Three of the mascot designs draw inspiration from iconic horse figures appearing in art across Chinese history, specifically from the Western Zhou Dynasty (1046-771 BC) and the Han (202 BC-220 AD) and the Tang (618-907) dynasties. The fourth is modeled on Przewalski's horse, the world's only surviving species of truly wild horse. Together, they blend Chinese cultural heritage with a dynamic spirit of innovation.
Alongside the mascots, CMG released its 2026 Spring Festival Gala-themed cultural and creative products. The collection includes collectible wares such as bowls, plates and couplets, intangible cultural heritage ceramics, decorative ornaments, as well as plush toys and fashion scarves, commemorative first-day covers, postcard sets, and food and beverage products.
Additionally, CMG unveiled co-branded cultural product lines developed in collaboration with master creators, further expanding its artistic output for the occasion.

Peng Jianming, a member of CMG's Editorial Board, attended the event and said that the Spring Festival Gala is a content intellectual property with strong national emotional resonance and significant global influence.
