China strongly opposes the European Commission's intensive probes into Chinese firms under the Foreign Subsidies Regulation (FSR), a spokesperson for China's Commerce Ministry said on Thursday.
The statement follows recent EU investigations into China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation (CRRC) and Nuctech, as well as unannounced inspections on Chinese digital platforms. The spokesperson, He Yadong, noted that the moves are clearly discriminatory and targeted.
China urges the EU to immediately cease its unreasonable suppression of foreign firms and to exercise prudence in using FSR tools to maintain a fair, just and predictable business environment. China is closely monitoring the situation and will take all necessary measures to resolutely safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises operating within the EU.
