China urges Japan to stop testing the bottom line of international justice with its nuclear ambitions, said a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson on Friday.

Spokesperson Guo Jiakun's remarks came after a senior Japanese official said that Japan should have nuclear weapons.

The recent noises from the Japanese side about nuclear weapons reflect the growing ambition of right-wing conservative forces in Japan to revive militarism, break free from the international order and accelerate the country's "remilitarization," Guo said in a regular press briefing. 

Guo notes that this year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. "Japan must deeply reflect on its historical crimes, abide by international laws and the Japanese constitution, stop finding excuses for military expansion and stop challenging the international bottom line with its nuclear ambitions," said Guo.
