The Fujian Coast Guard on Thursday conducted routine law enforcement patrols in waters near Kinmen in accordance with the law, said a spokesperson for a regional bureau of the China Coast Guard.

Zhu Anqing, spokesperson for the East China Sea Bureau of the China Coast Guard, said during the patrols, the Fujian Coast Guard took measures including maneuvering-in-formation, identification and verification, as well as radio warnings to intensify law enforcement patrols in key waters.

Noting that since this year, the coast guard has further enhanced maritime controls in relevant waters, Zhu said such measures have safeguarded the legitimate rights and interests as well as the lives and property of fishermen from both sides of the Taiwan Strait and have effectively maintained normal navigation and operational order in the relevant waters.
