China's largest offshore oilfield, the Bohai Oilfield, has produced more than 40 million tonnes of oil equivalent in 2025 – reaching an all-time high – the China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) announced on Sunday. As the country's largest offshore oilfield in terms of both production and scale, the record output will support national energy security and high-quality economic and social development, according to the CNOOC.
The Bohai Oilfield oversees more than 60 oil and gas fields and over 200 production facilities. The oilfield has achieved annual output growth of 5 percent over the past five years, accounting for nearly 40 percent of the national increase in crude oil production.
