Civil Aviation Law draft adds airworthiness certification for unmanned aircraft

01:19

A third review draft of the amendment to China's Civil Aviation Law will be submitted to the 19th session of the Standing Committee of the 14th National People's Congress from December 22 to 27.

The draft proposes new provisions on certification for unmanned aircraft, and strengthens passenger rights protection and civil aviation safety. It also improves coordination with reforms in air traffic management, emergency rescue and civil aviation policing.

Civil aviation is a key strategic industry in China and an important pillar of the country's transport sector development. The sector has expanded rapidly in recent years, with improvements to safety standards and the emergence of new business models such as the low-altitude economy.
