The trials of justice: Dark memories of Shanghai's internment camps

The whole world has heard about the atrocities the Japanese military committed against the local population during its occupation of China. However, very few people know about the brutality inflicted on the country's foreign residents. By the end of September 1944, Shanghai's internment camps held more than 6,200 civilian prisoners from around a dozen countries, ranging in age from six months to 88 years old. This video reveals how China pursued international justice by bringing the Japanese officials who ran the internment camps to trial.
