China is willing to create conditions and provide a platform for dialogue and negotiations between Cambodia and Thailand, Deng Xijun, special envoy for Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has said.
From December 18 to 23, Deng visited Cambodia and Thailand, and conducted shuttle mediation on the recent border clashes between the two countries. He met with leaders of both countries, stressing that the most urgent task is to achieve a ceasefire as soon as possible, restart dialogue, and resolve the dispute in a peaceful manner.
