China has reaffirmed its firm commitment to a policy of no-first-use of nuclear weapons and a self-defensive nuclear strategy, rejecting U.S. claims as repeated hype aimed at justifying the acceleration of U.S. nuclear modernization and undermining global strategic stability.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said the United States, as the world's largest nuclear power, should fulfill its primary responsibility for nuclear disarmament by making substantive reductions to its nuclear arsenal and creating conditions for other nuclear-weapon states to join the process.
