Birds are throwing a winter party at Poyang Lake in east China's Jiangxi Province. China's largest freshwater lake is also the biggest winter home for migratory birds in Asia.
Flights of wintering birds, including Oriental white storks and Eurasian spoonbills, have flocked here each winter, turning the wetlands into a living wildlife wonderland.
Poyang Lake illustrates China's success in green development. Over the past five years, the country's forest coverage has topped 25 percent, while 74 percent of the country's key wildlife populations have benefited from protection plans.
