Sun Lei, China's deputy permanent representative to the United Nations, emphasized Venezuela's right to independently pursue cooperation with other countries. He called on the U.S. to cease its unilateral actions and prevent further escalation of tensions, during an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council on Tuesday, which was requested by Venezuela and supported by China and Russia.
