Ice-and-snow activities are fueling a surge in winter tourism in Tianzhu Tibetan Autonomous County in northwest China's Gansu Province. By combining snowy adventures with lively Tibetan cultural experiences, the county is attracting visitors keen to enjoy the winter season.
The area is home to the Wushaoling International Ski Resort, one of Gansu's highest-altitude ski destinations perched at over 3,000 meters above sea level. Visitors can hit the slopes and take part in traditional Tibetan dances, Tibetan-style tug-of-war, and snow biking. Over the New Year holiday, the resort will introduce a variety of travel packages, including ski-and-stay deals as well as family, parent-and-child, and couples' options, to inject new vitality into the local winter tourism market.
