Japan's Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) has announced plans to restart the No. 6 reactor of the Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Plant in 2026, marking its first reactor restart since the 2011 Fukushima nuclear accident.

In response, China urged Japan to draw lessons from past nuclear disasters, fulfill its nuclear safety responsibilities and voluntarily accept international oversight, citing repeated safety incidents at Japanese nuclear facilities.
