A 16-meter-tall statue of the Sakyamuni Buddha looks out from the Foguang Temple in Wenchang, Hainan Province, facing the open sea. Bathed in sunlight, its golden surface shines brightly, creating a striking contrast with the blue horizon beyond. The presence of the statue has made the temple a popular site for worship and sightseeing, with a steady flow of visitors throughout the year.

The temple also houses a blood-copied manuscript of the "Heart Sutra," which is regarded as a valuable cultural relic. Built in 1993, the temple was inspired by a hilltop Buddha statue and temple in Pattaya, Thailand.
