China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) on Thursday held a symposium with private enterprises to gather opinions and policy recommendations on economic work for the coming year.
The meeting brought together heads of private companies from a range of sectors, including home appliances and auto parts manufacturing, agricultural and livestock product processing, education informatization, and biopharmaceutical research and development.
At the symposium, business representatives analyzed the opportunities and challenges their respective industries are likely to face next year. They said they would proactively adapt to changing conditions, seize development opportunities, and strive to achieve stronger corporate growth, thereby contributing to high-quality economic and social development.

The entrepreneurs also put forward a number of policy suggestions. These included increasing support for innovation, entrepreneurship, and financing for private enterprises, improving the implementation of policies related to large-scale equipment upgrades and consumer goods trade-ins, and strengthening oversight of government special funds.
Zheng Shanjie, head of the NDRC, said enterprises are the core micro-level market entities and that macroeconomic policies must deliver tangible benefits for businesses. He emphasized the need to help companies solve practical problems and further optimize the business environment.
Looking ahead, the NDRC said it will thoroughly implement the spirit of the Central Economic Work Conference by expanding domestic demand, strengthening innovation, and deepening reform and opening up. These efforts aim to continuously energize high-quality development and ensure a solid and smooth start to the 15th Five-Year Plan period.
