China slams U.S. for Taiwan arms deals, calls move 'doomed to fail'

01:02

Zhang Xiaogang, spokesperson for China's Ministry of National Defense, has criticized the United States for negative Taiwan-related actions, accusing Washington of interfering in China's internal affairs. Zhang warned that U.S. arms sales to Taiwan encourage separatist forces, undermine peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait, and increase the risk of military confrontation. He stressed that attempts to use Taiwan to contain China are "doomed to fail," urging the U.S. to respect the One-China Principle and safeguard the stability of bilateral and military relations.
