Each autumn and winter, flocks of birds fill the sky over the Yellow River Delta in east China's Shandong Province, as more than 400,000 migratory birds take flight at once. With habitats steadily improving, the spectacle has more than doubled in scale over the past five years. A new integrated sky-land-sea monitoring system tracks 376 bird species in real time, with newly recorded species offering proof of a healthier ecosystem.
