A natural gas line rupture in northern Los Angeles County on Saturday prompted authorities to issue shelter-in-place orders and temporarily shut down a key Southern California highway. The Los Angeles Fire Department said there was no immediate threat even as some residents, miles away from the leak, reported smelling gas. No injuries were reported and the cause of the leak remains under investigation.
