China's National Figure Skating Championships wrapped up with local favorite Jin Boyang cruising to a dominant victory in the men's singles competition in Harbin on Sunday.
Jin was the last to compete among the 24 skaters. The two-time Olympian built a lead in the short program and stayed on top in the free skate despite an error on a triple Axel. Jin scored 185.21 points in the free skate and clinched the title with a combined total of 277.76 points.
Chen Yudong finished second while Peng Zhiming placed third.
According to China's Winter Sports Management Center's selection regulations, athletes for the 2026 Winter Olympics will be chosen based on combined results from the 2025-26 ISU Grand Prix Cup of China and the National Championships. Jin previously placed fifth at the Cup of China in October, posting a score higher than Peng and Dai Dawei.
"From the Cup of China to the Japan leg, and then to the National Championships, I think my form has been getting better with each competition. That is real progress for me. While my rankings have been solid so far, I still strive for perfection, and I think there were a still a few flaws in my free skate performance today," said Jin.
In other action, Jin Shuxian successfully defended the women's singles title. The 14-year-old delivered an almost flawless free skate, combining technical precision with artistry to retain the title with a total score of 208.85 points, including 139.77 in the free skate.
Zhang Ruiyang took silver and Zhu Yi rounded out the podium with bronze.
