The Eastern Theater Command of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) dispatched bomber task forces to conduct far-seas combat readiness patrols to the east of the Taiwan Island on Monday, according to Senior Colonel Shi Yi, spokesperson for the PLA Eastern Theater Command.
Shi said that the patrol focuses on long-distance raids and joint precision strikes, adding that the drills intend to test the capabilities of maneuver operations in remote areas.
