Multiple forces of the Eastern Theater Command of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) started drills code-named "Justice Mission 2025" around Taiwan Island on Monday. The drills follow the U.S. announcement of large-scale arms sales to Taiwan region. Hsieh Chih-chuan, a Taiwan-based current affairs commentator, said the exercises are meant to deliver "a head-on blow" to separatist forces on the island.
