The ground forces of the Eastern Theater Command of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) organized live-fire training, while conducting a simulated long-range joint strike with units of the Navy, Air Force and Rocket Force in the waters to the south of Taiwan Island at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Senior Captain Li Xi, spokesperson for the PLA Eastern Theater Command, said.

Li said the drills achieved desired effects.
