Report confirms record world-level achievements by China's athletes in 2025

On Tuesday morning, China's General Administration of Sport released its 2025 Report on Achievements of Chinese Athletes, revealing that the nation's athletes won 146 major titles across 31 sports disciplines at various World Championships and World Cups this year.

Among the 146 major titles, 47 came from Olympic disciplines, including speed skating, shooting, BMX freestyle, rowing, canoe sprint, weightlifting, boxing, swimming, diving, artistic swimming, artistic gymnastics, trampoline, rhythmic gymnastics, table tennis, badminton and sport climbing.

Chinese athletes also set 17 world records, including four in Olympic disciplines.

Since the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949, the country's athletes have won 4,253 major titles and broken world records 1,442 times.

In the era since the 1978 Reform and Opening Up, they have won 4,229 major titles and broken world records 1,268 times.

And during the period of the 14th Five-Year Plan from 2021 to 2025, Chinese athletes have won 665 major titles and broken world records 91 times.
