Women's singles world number one Sun Yingsha of China has withdrawn from the upcoming World Table Tennis Champions tournament in Doha, Qatar, and will be replaced by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region's Doo Hoi Kem.

Sun pulled out of a women's singles semifinal match at the WTT Finals earlier this month due to discomfort, and subsequently missed the Chinese Table Tennis Super League Finals, which wrapped up on Sunday in Nanjing. Despite sitting out those events, she finished as the year-end world number one for the fourth consecutive season.

Following Sun's announcement, China's women's singles lineup for the January 7-11 competition in Doha will feature Wang Manyu, Chen Xingtong, Wang Yidi, Chen Yi and Kuai Man.
