U.S. President Donald Trump said on Monday that during a phone call earlier in the day with Russian President Vladimir Putin, he was informed that a Ukrainian drone had attacked Putin's state residence in Russia's Novgorod region. Trump made the comments while answering reporters' questions in Florida ahead of a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as talks continue to seek an end to the conflict in Ukraine.
Trump told reporters he was "very angry" about the alleged incident, but added: "You're saying maybe the attack didn't take place. It's possible, too, I guess. But President Putin told me this morning it did."
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Monday denied the accusation, calling it "another lie from the Russian Federation."
