China's domestically built large passenger jet, the C919, registered B-658N, landed at Changsha Huanghua International Airport of central China's Hunan Province on Wednesday, officially joining China Southern Airlines' Hunan branch.

Changsha becomes the fourth city in China, after Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, to operate the C919, marking the airliner's first dual-base operation between Guangzhou and Changsha and a new milestone in large-scale commercial use of domestic aircraft.

A China Southern Airlines Hunan branch official said a second C919 is planned to be introduced before the 2026 Spring Festival travel season, gradually expanding domestic aircraft operations in Hunan. During the Spring Festival, the C919 will fly three routes connecting Changsha with Guangzhou, Beijing and Shanghai, with more than three daily flights between Changsha and Beijing, offering passengers greater access to domestically produced aircraft.
