China's railway network is predicted to handle 77.8 million passenger trips during the New Year holiday, China State Railway Group (CSRG), the national railway operator, said on Wednesday.
The railway transportation for the New Year holiday started on December 31, 2025, and will end on January 4, 2026, lasting for 5 days, with January 1 expected to see the highest passenger flow, said the CSRG.
The railway sector has added trains on busy routes, reinforced safety measures and improved services to ensure a safe and efficient travel experience on the first day of 2026.
