The Guangsha Lions defeated the Beijing Ducks 91-85 in Beijing on Tuesday, putting an end to the Ducks' perfect 7-0 start of the 2025-26 CBA regular season.
Barry Brown made four three-pointers for the visitors, two in the first two minutes and another two in the final four minutes. He scored a game-high 23 points for Guangsha while getting six assists and four steals.
Sun Minghui contributed 22 points and five assists for the Lions, keeping the contest close until Brown's final burst.
On Beijing's side, Zhao Rui led the team with 22 points, nine rebounds and six assists. They trailed by small margins during most of the game but were held back by their 17 turnovers that were converted by Guangsha into easy buckets.
Without Chen Ying-chun, the capital side lacked a reliable second source of offensive firepower. The team's second-highest scoring output came from Omari Spellman who sank four triples out of 11 attempts to get 13 points. Zhou Qi had a double-double of 12 points and 14 rebounds. He was a major factor on defense, but couldn't play a bigger offensive role.

In another battle of the night, the Guangdong Southern Tigers crushed the Tianjin Pioneers 98-74 on the road for their eighth consecutive win. The 11-time CBA champions are now the only team with a perfect record and continue to top the league.
The visitors built a 33-21 advantage after the first quarter and then increased it to 27 points at 60-33 when the first half ended. The gap remained unchanged after the third quarter for the game to grow into a foregone conclusion early.
Jared Sullinger got a double-double of 25 points and 13 rebounds in 27 minutes for Guangdong. Tianjin's Jamille Reynolds made all nine of his field goals to contribute 23 points while getting five blocks, but his efforts didn't take the team to their second victory of the season.
