Two 1-gigawatt solar power stations in southwest China's Yalong River basin were put into operation on December 31, accelerating the development of the region's integrated hydropower, wind and solar energy base. The projects are expected to generate about 3.9 billion kWh of clean electricity annually, reducing carbon emissions by roughly 3.1 million tonnes.
