At the FIS World Cup in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, China's Zeng Ping finished sixth in the women's large hill event, marking the best World Cup result ever achieved by a Chinese athlete in the discipline.

The 20-year-old Zeng had been in impressive form this season, having won back-to-back gold medals at the ski jumping Continental Cup in Einsiedeln, Switzerland, in September. Competing in Germany, the young Chinese jumper scored 112.3 points in her first jump, placing sixth after the opening round.

Zeng maintained her steady performance in the second jump, earning 114.8 points with a jump of 126.5 meters. With a combined total of 227.1 points, she secured sixth place in the overall standings.

Defending champion Nika Prevc of Slovenia finished 23.1 points ahead of home favorite Selina Freitag to claim her third consecutive title in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Top qualifier and World Cup leader Nozomi Maruyama of Japan completed the podium.
