Colorful dragon and lion dances set a festive tone in Hong Kong as the 2026 Hong Kong Dragon & Lion Festival and the 8th World Dragon & Lion Day kicked off on New Year's Day in Tsim Sha Tsui area. The vibrant parade and performances filled the streets with pulsating rhythms and high energy. Bringing together dragon and lion dance teams from across the globe – including a record 138 lions and more than 1,500 performers from over ten countries and regions – the festival highlighted the vitality of Chinese culture and shared its joyful spirit with audiences worldwide.
