The lighting up of lanterns on New Year's Day marked the opening of the 2026 Luzhou New Year Lantern Fair at Xiaoyaojin Park in Hefei, known as Luzhou in ancient times, Anhui Province, creating a dazzling display of light and color. As one of Hefei's most iconic Spring Festival attractions, this year's fair blends traditional lantern art with digital technology, presenting more than 50 large-scale lantern installations that create an immersive journey through the past and present.

Standing on the park's central lawn, the centerpiece of the fair is a giant horse-shaped lantern. Stretching over 14 meters in length and rising 13 meters high, it has quickly become the visual highlight for visitors.

To enrich the experience, the lantern fair features a full-day program of activities. From noon onwards, parades, theatrical performances and traditional dances bring the park to life, with the event running until March 4.
