At the beginning of the New Year, the 24th Chinese peacekeeping force to Lebanon completed its first "blue barrel" maintenance operation after being deployed in the mission area. The blue barrels refer to the boundary markers set up by the United Nations on the "blue line" between Lebanon and Israel to mark a temporary border. Due to the impact of war, wind and rain erosion, and terrain changes, some blue barrels have shown signs of damage, tilting, and displacement, and are in urgent need of maintenance and calibration.
