Xiamen rallies past Liaoning to win China Badminton Super League title

Xiamen claimed the title at the China Badminton Super League Finals, after battling back from one match down to defeat Liaoning 3-1 in the championship contest in Changsha on Friday.

Liaoning's Ren Xiangyu and Xie Haonan faced Xiamen's He Jiting and Lin Xiangyi in the opening men's doubles match, starting quickly on their way to taking the first game 15-13.

He and Lin responded by snatching the second game 16-14, but Ren and Xie closed out the decider 15-12 to give Liaoning an early 1-0 overall advantage.

World No. 3 Anders Antonsen dominated the ensuing men's singles match, as the Dane defeated Liaoning's Liu Yangmingyu 2-0 to bring Xiamen level at 1-1.

Xiamen moved to the brink of victory when the world's top-ranked mixed doubles pair, Feng Yanzhe and Huang Dongping, beat Guo Xinwa and Liu Shengshu 2-0.

World No. 5 Han Yue then swept past Liaoning's Chen Xintong 2-0 in the women's singles match, sealing a 3-1 triumph and clinching the trophy for Xiamen.
