UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is deeply shocked by the recent escalation of the situation in Venezuela, said a spokesperson for the UN chief in a statement on Saturday.

The military actions taken by the United States in Venezuela on Saturday could have worrying implications for regional stability, according to the statement.
