U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi said on Saturday morning that Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro will "soon face the full wrath of American justice on American soil in American courts" after he was captured and flown out of the oil-rich South American nation.
Maduro has been charged with narco-terrorism conspiracy, cocaine importation conspiracy, possession of machine guns and destructive devices, and conspiracy to possess machine guns and destructive devices against the United States, said Bondi.
Bondi has not said what his wife has been charged with.
President Maduro has previously denied those accusations and said Washington was intent on taking control of Venezuela's oil reserves.
