- A plane carrying Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, arrived at a U.S. military base in New York on Saturday, according to local media. The reports followed claims that the two were taken into custody during a large-scale U.S. military operation in Venezuela.

- In a live address on state television on Saturday afternoon, Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodriguez said that Maduro remains "the only legitimate president" of the South American nation.

- U.S. President Donald Trump said at a press conference on Saturday that the United States would "run" Venezuela "until such time as we can do a safe, proper and judicious transition."

- The UN Security Council will hold an emergency meeting on Monday to discuss the U.S. operation against Venezuela, according to the council presidency.
