Live updates: Maduro in custody at New York detention center to face 'charges'

- Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, are being held at a New York detention center following their capture during U.S. strikes on Venezuela on Saturday.

- Maduro and several others are expected to face "charges" in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York next week, including "narco-terrorism conspiracy", "cocaine importation conspiracy", "possession of machine guns and destructive devices", and "conspiracy to possess machine guns and destructive devices."

- Venezuela's Supreme Court of Justice on late Saturday ordered Vice President Delcy Rodriguez to immediately assume the role of acting president after President Nicolas Maduro's capture.

- U.S. President Donald Trump said at a press conference on Saturday that the United States would "run" Venezuela "until such time as we can do a safe, proper and judicious transition."

- The UN Security Council will hold an emergency meeting on Monday to discuss the U.S. operation against Venezuela.
